About Us
Built in the North.
Built for Nations.
Fireweed AI is a sovereign AI infrastructure company founded in Whitehorse, Yukon on the traditional territory of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and the Ta'an Kwäch'än Council. We build governance-first AI systems that keep data on your land and authority in your hands.
Who We Are
A governance team building AI infrastructure for Canada
Fireweed AI was founded in Whitehorse, Yukon by a team with deep roots in Indigenous governance, public sector systems, and machine learning infrastructure. We are not a general AI company that adapted its product for Indigenous communities, we built from the ground up for sovereignty-sensitive institutions, because that is the environment we come from.
630+ Nations
First Nations governments across Canada that represent Fireweed's addressable market
100%
Data residency guarantee. No client data has ever crossed a jurisdictional boundary
Our Values
The principles behind Fireweed AI
Every architectural decision, every contract, and every deployment is shaped by the same belief: that Nations and governments deserve AI infrastructure they actually own and control.
Sovereignty before everything
AI that serves institutions must answer to those institutions and not to the company that built it. Every system we deploy is architecturally isolated, governance-aligned, and controlled entirely by the client.
Trust is earned through structure
We don't ask Nations to trust us. We build systems where trust doesn't have to be assumed. Enforceable withdrawal rights, audit logging, and transparent ingestion controls make accountability technical, not theoretical.
Governance capacity, not dependency
The goal is never to make institutions dependent on Fireweed AI. It's to expand what their teams can do — drafting faster, finding knowledge quicker, and making better-informed decisions with their own data.
Why us
What makes Fireweed AI different
Every other AI platform was built for someone else and adapted for governments. Fireweed was built for sovereignty-sensitive institutions from day one.
