Our Founder & CEO, Cole Robulack, has been selected for the third cohort of Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute Indigenous Pathfinders in AI program in Montréal.

For seven weeks, Cole joins engineers, artists, healthcare workers, journalists, entrepreneurs, and community leaders from across Canada, all asking the same question: not what AI can do, but what it should do for Indigenous communities.

It's also a national milestone for Fireweed AI that's only five months old. Northern innovation rarely shows up on Canada's AI map, most of the compute, capital, and research sits in the south. We're working to change that.

"All that knowledge is flowing in every direction." That's how Cole describes the cohort. The learning isn't top-down. It's reciprocal, community-centred, and grounded in Indigenous knowledge systems, the same principles we build into our infrastructure, not as an afterthought, but from the ground up.

Everything Cole brings back from Mila goes straight into our work.
